Solstice 2024 in Destiny 2

Welcome, Guardians! Solstice 2024 has arrived in Destiny 2, bringing new content and mechanics. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the event, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to make the most of Solstice 2024. We’ve covered you, from the new Solstice Forge to the Bonfire Bash, high-stat armor, and the Fortunate Star bow. Let’s dive in!

Quest Start & Event Card

Solstice 2024 is here, and just like much of Destiny 2 recently, it has been updated with new mechanics and rewards. The silver ash currency from last year has been replaced with a forge and bounty system requiring alloys and ingots to craft your Solstice Sublime armor. Alongside the familiar Bonfire Bash activity, a new weapon to farm: the Void Fortunate Star bow, which can roll with perks like Kill Clip. All the returning weapons have updated perk pools, and a new mechanic allows for multiple traits per weapon roll, increasing your chances of getting that perfect God roll.

When you first load into the game, you’ll be greeted with a splash screen detailing this year’s Solstice event, including the new Eververse armor and event card. The event card is optional and costs 1,000 Silver, offering a few cosmetic items and the ability to spend tickets from challenges on more cosmetics. Most players find this a waste of money unless you’re a die-hard collector. The event card is not required to participate in Bonfire Bash or acquire any loot.

To start the quest, speak with Eva Levante, who will give you the Solstice Forge. This is the focal point of the progression system for Solstice this year. The forge collects Silver Leaves from activities you complete and shows how many Alloys you have collected for each armor piece. Completing bounties awards you different amounts of Alloys, and once you have 100 Alloys for a specific piece of armor, you can start a new quest to craft that armor piece.

Solstice Forge

The Solstice Forge can be accessed from Eva or your quest tab. It collects Silver Leaves from activities and shows how many Alloys you have for each armor piece. Selecting the forge will display multiple bounties for each Sublime armor piece. Completing these bounties awards you with Alloys, and once you have 100 Alloys for a specific piece, you can craft that armor piece.

Bonfire Bash

Bonfire Bash is a three-player matchmade activity selectable via the Tower director. The activity involves killing glowing high-value targets called Ignition Carriers, who drop igniters that you throw into the bonfire at the center of the arena. The goal is to stoke the bonfire with igniters as many times as possible before the timer runs out, ideally reaching a 30-stack. The more igniters you deposit, the more rewards you get when you defeat the boss. Rewards include old reprised Solstice weapons and the new Fortunate Star bow.

Bounties & Refreshes

After completing a single Forge Bounty, you’ll unlock the remaining event challenges. Speak with Eva again to upgrade your Forge, allowing you to spend five Silver Leaves to refresh the bounties of a specific armor piece. Bounties come in three rarities: Common, Uncommon, and Legendary, each offering different amounts of Alloys. Common bounties are quick to finish, and award five Alloys, Uncommon bounties award 15 Alloys, and Legendary bounties award 50 Alloys but require more effort, such as completing Nightfalls or dungeon encounters.

Unlocking Sublime Armor

Each Sublime armor piece has bounties, and you must collect 100 Alloys for each piece. Once you have enough Alloys, you can acquire the Ingot Quest for that piece, which involves completing Bonfire Bash again. After completing the quest, you can craft the Sublime armor piece and work towards obtaining its glow.

Ingot Quest & A Glowing Solstice Quest

The Ingot Quest requires you to stoke the bonfire 20 times and obtain 50 more Alloys. Completing this quest awards you with an Incandescent Ingot, enabling you to imbue the glow for that armor piece. This is the free white glow; colored glows must be purchased from Eververse using Silver or Bright Dust.

Armor Glows

Once you’ve obtained a single piece of Sublime armor, you can start working towards its glow. The white glow is free, but the colored glow must be purchased from Eververse. The glow can be applied retroactively to any armor pieces you obtain after completing the quest.

High-Stat Rolled Armor & Double Perk Weapons

After forging a single piece of Sublime armor, you can start working towards high-stat rolled armor and Solstice weapons with multiple traits. Higher rarity bounties offer a higher chance of obtaining high-stat armor or bonus weapon perks. This year, you can enhance these weapons, making it easier to get the perfect roll.

Solstice Keepsake Memento

This year, the Solstice Keepsake Memento is a new addition, giving your weapons a tropical look. Imbuing glow onto a complete set of Sublime armor unlocks this memento. It may also be a random drop from Forge Bounties or Bonfire Bash.

Transmog and Outro

Once you’ve unlocked the glow for your armor, you can apply Synthweave to any other gear pieces. The event lasts for three weeks, so take your time and enjoy the grind. Good luck with the RNG, and may you get those double perk drops and God rolls!
