The devs have finally shared the roadmap for the Embers of Neltharion update, and now we know when the long-anticipated patch and new season will go live, as well as what content is waiting for us there. So, if you’d like to know when you can enjoy everything Blizzard has in store for us, keep reading!
Embers of Neltharion and Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible Arrive in May
That’s right, the new major update kicks off on May 2, bringing us:
- Zaralek Caverns zone
- New Gear Upgrade system
- New faction Loamm Niffen – inhabitants of Zaralek Cavern and your new allies
- New public events: Fyrrak Assaults, where you need to face Fyrrak’s forces, and Researches Under Fire
- Cross-Function Guilds
As for Dragonflight Season 2, it arrives on May 9, the exact same day when the Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible raid goes live and becomes available on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties. The new season will introduce many awesome changes, such as Affix updates, a new PvP ladder and gear, and new Class Tier-Sets. On top of that, get ready to test your skill in the following new Mythic+ dungeons:
- Brackhide Hollow
- Halls of Infusion
- Uldaman
- Legacy of Tyr
- Neltharus
- Freehold (Battle for Azeroth)
- The Underrot (Battle for Azeroth)
- Vortex Pinnacle (Cataclysm)
- Neltharion’s Lair (Legion)
Naturally, there will be more new features and changes, but that’s all we know for now. Once we learn new details about the upcoming patch, we’ll share them in our blog.
When Will the Current Season End?
Season 1 PvP and Mythic+ will end on May 2, giving way to a new update. Here’s what the devs shared in their note.
Greetings Champions.
Dragonflight Season 1 will be closing the week of May 2. Here’s what you can expect:
Dragonflight Season 1: PvP
- The current season of Dragonflight PvP content will end at 10:00 p.m. the night before maintenance begins in each region. This is 10:00 p.m. PDT for North American realms and 22:00 CEST for European realms.
- With the season’s end, it will no longer be possible to earn PvP seasonal rewards, titles, or Dragonflight Season 1 rankings.
Dragonflight Season 1: Mythic+
- The current season of Mythic+ content will end at 10:00 p.m. the night before maintenance begins in each region. This is 10:00 p.m. PDT for North American realms and 22:00 CEST for European realms. With the season’s end, ratings that qualify for the 0.1% Thundering Hero: Dragonflight Season 1 achievement will be recorded.
- The “Thundering Hero” title and achievement will be rewarded during the following weeks after the season ends, so be sure to wait to change factions until after you have received the title.
- All other Mythic+ achievements and rewards can still be earned until Dragonflight Season 2 begins.
Best of luck battling to a glorious finish of the season!
