Following the release of Lightfall, D2 gamers meet new challenges in the Root of Nightmares raid by confronting the Final God of Pain. If you are determined to enter the Witness’ Pyramid ship, you’ll face 4 different enemies from which you’ll be able to retrieve valuable treasures. Additional drops will be available if you can accomplish the raid challenges.
Raids in Root Of Nightmares
Like most raids in D2, the different challenges in this raid work in a weekly rotation which can grant you additional loot by finishing them within a particular set of requirements. For example, in Vault of Glass’ Templar, you must keep the boss from teleporting itself to complete the Out of Its Way challenge. That way, you’ll be able to earn an additional chest.
Acquiring rare Adept weapons, usually only given to those who finish pinnacle activities, is another benefit of completing the weekly challenges in Root of Nightmares on Master. Using this method to obtain rare adepts grants them two points for every stat they have. It also allows you to equip Adept mods. You can obtain mods by engaging in high-end activities. They are very beneficial, giving your stats flat boosts for range, supper, and blast radius.
Completing raid challenges can improve the Exotic drop chances in the raid, which is helpful if you’re having trouble getting Conditional Finality, the Root of Nightmares Exotic. There are many benefits to participating in these weekly challenges, including the increased chances to earn double loot. A set of brand-new challenges was introduced on March 28th and will be rotating weekly, adding some freshness to the mix.

The Illuminated Torment challenge can be tedious because it involves taking a slight detour around a timed encounter, but it should be manageable. On the opposite side, the Crossfire challenge for the Scission encounter shouldn’t be too much of an obstacle. You only need to spend a few seconds shooting a node across from you, so it’s more of a formality. The real struggle in this task is the launchers’ unpredictable pathing.
Meanwhile, the Cosmic Equilibrium and the All Hands challenge from Macrocosm and Nezarec are more complex. In Macrocosm, you must reverse the mechanics: prior to moving to the middle plates, arrange two sets of planets rather than just one. Adding clear is even more crucial on Master because of the foes you must defeat to complete the mechanic depend on how soon your team can eliminate the Centurions.
Last but not least, Nezarec’s challenge includes a couple of additional stages that require all your team members to assume the position of runners. That may require role flexing so you can avoid being overrun by adds or thrown around by Nezarec’s Hatred.
The Root of Nightmares’ challenges and triumphs are generally far less troublesome than other raids. They won’t necessarily be an easy victory. However, if your team gets acquainted with the encounters and the roles they need to play on them, you’ll get a drop, even if it requires a couple of tries.
