Now, let’s take a closer look at some of this content.

How Well Do Zombies Mix with Warzone?

Zombie Royale puts a new thrilling twist on the classic BR ruleset.
  • Operation Nightmare – players will band together to investigate the anomalies that spread around the beloved maps, fight new enemies and work they’re way clearing the Bounty board!
  • Vondel will be overrun by the undead and devs are promising to have secrets that will await for players to discover them.
  • Zombie royale – a limited-time game mode that will be available on both maps. It will have a new twist – players will be able to return to the battlefield as zombies after they died as regular operators!
  • Lockdown – is the mode akin to classic multiplayer mode called Hardpoint where players need to capture and control one point that changes its location on a timer. As for upcoming version of the Lockdown that will be available on Vondel, players can expect to be able to collect Souls, a sort of a resource that they can then spend to buy rewards! All of this will take place on the night version of the map!

More on Zombie Royale – both maps will supposedly have different gameplay experiences and therefore will differ in some areas, but the general premise is this – instead of going to Gulag after being killed, players can be revived as Zombies. In this form, they will have several unique abilities. What’s interesting is that as a Zombie you can collect special syringes that will help you return to the game as a human operator!

Operation Nightmare - Mission Intel

Operation Nightmare begins on October 17, with operators in the Al Mazrah AO facing increasing frequency of eldritch hot spots. Entities have been detected throughout the AO, and the “Most Wanted” Target and other hostiles must be eliminated. A bounty has been offered on several targets, and exceptional bravery may result in rewards and a Mastery Weapon Blueprint. Unconfirmed reports include an ancient tomb complex, hieroglyphs, and an entity known as “The Pharaoh.” Witnesses report strange lights and orbs in the night sky, encounters with a spectral swamp creature, and a glowing, wisp-like ethereal abomination known as “Swamp Creature.” The Altars of Lilith and Nightmare Portal, codenamed “The Butcher,” may also be of concern.

Vondead - The City of the Dead

Vondead - Vondel at night
Vondel is populated by zombies. It's gonna be fun!

A zombie outbreak in Vondel has led to a complete evacuation of the city and surrounding area. The Graveyard, a hive of summoning activity, is believed to be the source of this anomalous activity. Vondead’s points of interest show signs of a city overrun with the undead, including burning vehicles, barricaded shops, and a bloodied tramway and train station. Demonic altars have been erected around Vondead, possibly linked to the feared entity “The Butcher.” Players must summon the hulking demon, descend into the underworld, and face him in battle to reap rewards.

Event-Exclusive Items & Equipment

  1. Captured Souls (Al Mazrah, Vondead)

    • In Al Mazrah and Vondead, players participate in the Soul Capture Event across Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II. Players obtain Souls by defeating enemies and monstrous beings. These Souls are awarded instantly and can be kept or traded for various rewards after each match.
  2. Haunted Box

    • Zombies in Al Mazrah and Vondead drop Haunted Boxes, which can also be found throughout the maps. These boxes contain plates, ammunition, and equipment, acting like mutated Armor and Munitions Boxes. However, players must be cautious when opening them as they are possessed and can be dangerous.
  3. Bloodseeker Grenade

    • The Bloodseeker Grenade is shaped like a vampire bat and latches onto enemies, highlighting them in thermal vision, which is useful in nighttime operations. There are unconfirmed reports that it cannot clamp on to underwater Operators.
  4. Trick and Treat: Jump Scares

    • In Al Mazrah and Vondead, every lootable container has the potential to trigger a jump scare. Players need to survive these scares to claim the rewards inside the containers. Additional terrifying surprises are expected as The Haunting event continues at mid-season in Call of Duty: Warzone.

DMZ - Hunt Your Targets

In Season 06, squads can drop into Al Mazrah as part of Operation Nightmare, focusing on nighttime hunts for supernatural entities across the warzone. DMZ is a mode that allows players to gather intel, track, and neutralize these entities without the pressure of a collapsing gas circle. Players can anticipate Al Mazrah-related Events and other activities as part of The Haunting, which will be introduced to DMZ.
