Location Overview
Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion, introduces players to the newest zone, Zaralek Cavern. This enormous cave system lies hidden beneath the Dragon Isles and served as Neltharion’s laboratory for conducting twisted experiments. It was also where the Earth-Warder first communicated with the Old Gods, setting him on the path to eventually become Deathwing.
Zaralek Cavern is home to a variety of creatures, including the mole people called Niffen, the Glimerogg Drogbar, and the Djaradin elders who are dragon hunters. The caverns are divided into three biomes, each with its own unique features: the crystalline caverns with towering stalagmites and stalactites, the sulfur pools where Neltharion disposed of his failed experiments, and the twisted spires of volcanic lava floes that the Djaradin Elders call their home.
Let’s take a sneak peek at the different locations that together make the zone.

How to Enter the Zaralek Cavern
The zone is already available for testing on PTR. You can find the entrance to Zaralek Cavern by the gap separating Thaldraszus and Ohn’ahran Plains. It is marked with a cave icon on the maps of both zones.
The New World Boss Encounter Found in Zaralek Cavern
There are actually two new world bosses that players will fight in the same encounter.
The so-called Zaqali Elders – are two insanely powerful Djaradin called Gholna and Vakan. This duo encounter has a special buff. When the two are at least 7 yards apart, they take 90% less damage.
Vakan can summon Blistering Cyclone and engorge players in darkness, blocking their vision. Meanwhile, Gholna can create Lava Geysers and throw magma.
These two can also be fought during the Embers of Neltharion story campaign and more of their kind will be encountered by players throughout the Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible.
A Special Item Found in Zaralek Cavern
A new toy item has been discovered while testing the zone. It works very similar to a Hearthstone in the sense that it teleports the user to Loamm, which is an almost central location within the Zaralek Cavern. The item is called Niffen Diggin’ Mitts and it is the reward for renown level 6 from Niffen faction
This item will certainly be useful for quick traveling around the Cavern. Speaking of faction leveling, if you’re on the lookout for for professional help, you’ll find plenty of handy services at LFCarry.com. With them you’ll have no trouble exploring the Zaralek Cavern at your own pace!
