When Is The Final Shape Release Date?
With the long-anticipated release of Lightfall that continues the Light and Darkness saga, players are now waiting for the next one – The Final Shape – that will wrap up the game’s story, which has been ongoing since 2014. Currently, there’s no official info regarding the final chapter’s launch, but according to the devs’ plan, the expansion is expected to kick off in early 2024.
Given that the previous two expansions were released in February, The Final Shape might arrive around this time, too. However, we still need to wait for the official announcement from Bungie.
What Story Will The Final Shape Unfold?
Unfortunately, not much is known now about this, save for the fact that the expansion will end the Light and Darkness saga, as we’ve mentioned above. It’s most likely that we see the final confrontation between the Guardians and The Witness as well as learn more about the mysterious Gardener and Winnower. On top of that, some fans, based on alleged leaks, speculate that we will find ourselves in an alternative reality, chasing the main antagonist who led us there. Though it’s better to take this info with a grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed yet.
Interestingly enough, Lightfall was originally meant to be the last chapter in the saga, but then the devs decided that The Final Shape should serve as one. However, it’s important to note that the final entry won’t be the end of Destiny 2 as a whole. Bungie specifically emphasized that The Final Shape will conclude just the “game’s first saga,” meaning that there is more the devs have in store for us. Well, hopefully, we’ll learn more soon.
Are there any Details about The Final Shape Gameplay?
Given that there’s a pretty long way out before The Final Shape (which might be just a working title, not an official one yet) release, there are no details revealing anything about the gameplay.
