A Little Brawl in Downtown L.A.
The last time Valorant extended its roster of maps was six months ago, so it’s about time for a new spot to plant your Spikes. The name of the map suggests the warm color pallet of the sunset and a new atmosphere to vibe to. Plus, LA’s famous food trucks and sake parks are present there to highlight the coastal life. As you can see from these screenshots, you have worn-out streets, some palms, and lots of cover for tactical advancements.
Now, there are actually no special mechanics that some of the previous maps are known for. There are no zip lines, teleporters, or code-locked doors. Instead, you get what you see because simplicity is the new trend! Enforcing this level design philosophy, there are only two plant sites, just like in your classic Counter Strike maps.
The classic three-lane structure will mean that whichever team takes control of the center will have a tactical advantage and a safe rotation route to both plant sites. Here’s what the developers say about it:
Valorant has several versions of the three-lane map formula, but we haven’t made one with a strong focus on mid-control in a long time - Enter Sunset
Joe Lansford, Lead Map Designer on Valorant.
The map is released today, on Aug 29, 2023! So, get ready to fight for the spike plant in Gekko’s home streets of Sunset. And remember, if you need help winning those matches, LFCarry.com got you covered!
