Legends are Apex Legends characters with unique abilities and skills, each with their own backstory and personality. Players can choose a legend to play as in each match, and their abilities can significantly impact the gameplay. Some legends are better suited for offensive playstyles, while others excel at defensive or support roles. Mastering the abilities of each Legend is crucial for success in Apex Legends. Recently, a new legend joined the equation. But who is Ballistic?
Ballistic's Backstory
According to Apex Legends’ official website, Ballistic is:
A refined older gentleman living with a beast inside.
August was always meant to inherit the Brinkman’s wealth, which was amassed through various dubious activities. However, when his parents faced the consequences of their actions, August became an enraged yet extremely wealthy orphan. Driven by anger and self-destructive tendencies, he joined the Thunderdome Games (the precursor to the Apex Games), where he adopted the nickname Ballistic and gained immense popularity. His approach to the game was daring, careless, and completely self-centered, earning him the distinction of being the first-ever Thunderdome celebrity.
August was well-known for his signature CAR (affectionately called “Lady Grey” after the tea). It was during these battles that he met his soulmate, Sok Leng. The couple swiftly wed and welcomed a son, Nathaniel. Sok Leng and her sibling Kit Siang formed an unwavering team, and together with August, they appeared invincible.
However, good things rarely last. August’s theatrics in battle distracted him from his teammates’ needs, resulting in Kit Siang’s demise. Overwhelmed by remorse, August withdrew, pushing away his spouse and child. For nearly twenty years, he lived in isolation, occupying his time with trivial chores to ease his solitude. As a result, August faded from public memory but not from his son’s. Nathaniel admired his father’s triumphs while striving to outdo them. When Nathaniel qualified for the difficult Apex Games, August approached the Syndicate with a proposition: accept him in place of his son.
In doing so, August hoped to shield his son from the same fate that had befallen him. What better way to employ his abilities than in altruistic endeavors? And if it just so happens that he can indulge in his favorite pastime of defeating his opponents…, it was a mere coincidence.
