Season 3 Release Date

Fans have been waiting for details about this major update for quite some time now, and Infinity Ward finally revealed some of them just recently by posting a video featuring content creator FaZeDirty. Thus, we now know that Season 3 will kick off on April 12, and we can take a look at one of the new weapons and a map that will be featured in Modern Warfare II, about which we’ll talk next.

New Season, New Guns

As you can see in the video, players will get their hands on the FJX Imperium sniper rifle, which many veterans will recognize as the Intervention from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.

Usually, we have two new weapons added to Battle Pass at the start of a season, so we can expect at least one more gun to be revealed soon, as also those that we’ll unlock during the season. However, there are rumors suggesting that we might see another weapon from the original title – the FAMAS assault rifle – which was quite popular with gamers back in the day. Once we have more info on this topic, we’ll update this article.

Operators We’re Going to Meet This Season in MWII

There were a lot of speculations about the Operators that the upcoming update will bring. Among the candidates were Valeria Garza and Alejandro Vargas, who, as was confirmed today, will officially arrive in the new season of both MWII and Warzone 2. There’s a high chance that they will become quite popular as players have been intrigued by these characters’ relationship since the Modern Warfare campaign.

The devs have also shared a  teaser that shows two new Operators in action.

MWII to Introduce New 6v6 Map

As revealed in the short teaser and confirmed by the developers, the new map we will explore in the new season is called Pelayo’s Lighthouse. It seems to be set in some dark area with fog and quite rainy weather. Spooky!

But will there be other maps added? That we also don’t know yet.

Gunfight is Returning in MWII Season 3

Infinity Ward confirmed this at the launch of the previous update. The mode was originally introduced in 2019’s game and makes two squads fight against each other in a match that lasts only for 40 seconds. The mode will arrive with a set of its own maps, and new ones will be released each season.

And this is what is known about the upcoming season of Modern Warfare II. It’s little, yes, but at least it’s more than we knew a few days ago, which cannot be said about Warzone 2.

Warzone 2 Season 3 Leaks

Unlike MWII, there’s almost nothing known about this game’s major update, save for rumors and leaks. There is no news about weapons (except for FJX Imperium) or maps yet. However, data miner BKTOOR managed to mine some icons of modes, which we might see in Season 3. These include the ones that fans have been waiting for a long time, so let’s hope they will be featured in the next season indeed.

These modes are:

  • Capture the Flag
  • Demolition
  • Plunder
  • Warzone Ranked

The last mode on this list excites players the most, which is understandable since they’ve been asking for it since 2020.

Also, there are leaks regarding the DMZ mode. Data miners state that the upcoming changes to this mode will include: barter contracts, faction reputation, trust system, and faction buy station.
