Get Your Weapon Ready: Warzone 2 Season 3 Roadmap Is Finally Here

The devs have finally shared the content that will be waiting for us in the next major update. New guns, operators, modes, and many more awesome additions will make their way into our favorite game. So while we wait, let’s walk you through everything we’ll see in the upcoming season.

New Weapons Coming to Warzone 2

Many players, especially those who are pretty familiar with 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, will instantly recognize the good old Intervention in a new FJX Imperium Sniper Rifle that arrives this season and can be unlocked via Battle Pass. The devs describe the weapon as an “anti-personnel, bolt-action sniper” that will quickly resolve any intense situation. So it’s not hard to guess that the gun will quickly become a big hit.

Another new weapon is Cronen Squall, a battle rifle that is designed for distance shooting and also arrives in Battle Pass. Moreover, we can expect two more Pistols to be added to the game when Season 3 Reloaded comes out.

Meet Alejandro and Valeria

These two made quite an impression when they first appeared in MWII, so it’s no wonder that players have been asking the devs to add them to the multiplayer and WZ2. And finally, Infinity Ward listened. Alejandro Vargas, a member of Task Force 14, and Valeria Garza, the main campaign’s antagonist, will make their debut in Season 3 of battle royale and be waiting for you in Battle Pass.

More Modes to Choose From

The fan-favorite Resurgence is coming to Al Mazrah, which was confirmed by the devs. This version of the popular mode will be called Massive Resurgence, and the player count will be increased to correspond to the map’s scale.

Furthermore, another beloved mode – Plunder – will arrive mid-season in the game. Players once again will be able to form squads and try to secure a victory by having the most cash wins.

On top of that, the long-anticipated Warzone 2 Ranked will finally make its way into the game, which Infinity Ward has confirmed. Although, we’ll have to wait for the Reloaded update to enjoy this mode.

New Gulag

In Season 3, there’ll be a new Gulag in Al Mazrah called Blacksite (not to be confused with Black Site). According to the official descriptions, this roughly rectangular, asymmetrical map has several interior spaces and long external routes. However, the location of the new Gulag isn’t yet revealed.

Gameplay Features We’ll See in New Season

  • Redeploy Drones: Now players will have another way of traversing in Al Mazrah, which is quite convenient for getting out of tough situations.
  • Tempered Plate Carrier: Warzone Caldera’s veterans will recognize this feature that allows you to use two bars of armor instead of three.
  • UAV Towers: Players can activate these fixed sources of recon to get UAV sweeps in the area for more intel during matches.

What’s New in DMZ?

There are plenty of new features coming to this mode, and they do look quite intriguing.

  • Barter System: The Barter System will be available at Buy Stations, allowing players to trade items they have for other ones.
  • Workbench: In Season 3, you will be able to modify Contraband weapons using the Workbench for a fee.
  • Active Duty Operator Slots: Every player will start with three Active Duty Operator slots to choose from each infiltration, each with their own items.
  • New Faction: A new faction is coming to the mode, bringing new mission tiers at launch and more to come.
  • New Missions and Contract: There will be a few new faction missions and a new contract called Secure Supplies.
  • New Bosses: Two new bosses will be waiting for players across Exclusion Zones, so prepare to face new challenges.

Trophy Hunt Event is Near

The upcoming season will feature a new event called Trophy Hunt. Every player will drop a trophy (decorative challenge coin) upon elimination in any mode, which can also be earned by completing certain tasks. These trophies can then be exchanged for rewards, including cosmetics and exclusive ones, such as Operator Skins.

End the Current Season on a High Note

Well, it seems like we have a lot to prepare for. With all additions and changes to come, it’s even more important to make the most out of this season and everything it has to offer.
