Get Crafty In Dragonflight Season 2! The recent Dragonflight 10.1 update introduces new Enchanted Crests for Crafted Gear. They significantly upgrade Epic Quality items, with recipes found in Zaralek Cavern. However, crafting is currently impossible due to missing reagents, which are set to release in the second week of Patch 10.1. Find out more about them with us!
Unpacking The New Enchanted Crests
The recent 10.1 update brings an exciting array of Infusions for Crafted Gear. These infusions are evenly split for application on Rare and Epic Quality items. Though the recipes have been accessible since the introduction of Patch 10.1, a few of the necessary items to create them will only become available with the onset of Season 2.
Enchanters can now craft four unique Infusions of Power in Patch 10.1. They can affect various crafted items enhancing their ilvl. However, for now, we will concentrate on those Enchanted Crests which enhance Epic Quality items: Enchanted Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest and Enchanted Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest.
Enchanted Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest is the intermediate Optional Reagent for Epic Quality crafted items. A piece of S2 crafted gear holds an ilvl of 411-424. With this infusion, it can reach a maximum of 437, equal to the usual loot drops from Heroic Raid Bosses in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible.
Enchanted Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest is a best-in-slot Optional Reagent for all Epic Quality crafted items, enhancing an item’s lvl from 411-424 to 434-447. This is comparable to specific loot drops from Mythic Raid Bosses in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible.
Optional Reagent | Quality 1 | Quality 2 | Quality 3 | Quality 4 | Quality 5 |
424 | 427 | 430 | 433 | 437 | |
434 | 437 | 440 | 443 | 447 |
Your Guide To Crafting Enchanted Crests
Enchanters are the ones able to craft Enchanted Crests. Recipes can be obtained in the Zaralek Cavern in Treasures and Rares. Enchanters must gather the recipes independently; they cannot be traded in the Auction house as they are BoP.
The Enchanted Crests have been a part of the gameplay since Patch 10.1 was released on May 2. Nonetheless, they are impossible to craft for now as players lack the needed reagents. Every Enchanted Crest needs several non-enchanted Shadowflame counterparts, only accessible on the second week of Patch 10.1. You can obtain them from different PvE activities. They are BoP, meaning you’ll have to supply them to the crafter if you want an Enchanted Crests made.
Enchanted Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest can be obtained from:
- Heroic Difficulty Raid Bosses
- Mythic+ Dungeons between +11 and +15
Enchanted Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest can be obtained from:
- Mythic Difficulty Raid Bosses
- Mythic+ Dungeons above +15
What Will The New Enchanted Crest Cost You?
Apart from the reagents, every Crest needs a diverse set of enchanting reagents, such as the Resonant Crystal and the Dracothyst gem. Due to this, crests will likely be costly to craft. You’ll have to supply all the resources on your own or offer a generous tip plus the price of these reagents to the crafter.
Anticipate a surge in demand for such reagents at the beginning of S2. Right now, Alchemists can make Dracothyst, but demand is still pretty low. However, with the start of the new season, people will start to purchase them, skyrocketing their costs. Also, the process of getting Dracothyst Shard is still unknown, but once it’s unlocked and players discover how, that could potentially disrupt the market and the price of Dracothyst.
Keep an eye on the market for enchanting materials. The demand for Enchanted Crests will likely trigger a price surge for these supplies. Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that numerous crafters have been amassing reagents such as Resonant Crystal even prior to the launch of Patch 10.1, anticipating the arrival of S2.
