Unlocking Warlord’s Ruin in Destiny 2

To participate in Warlord’s Ruin, aim for a Power Level of 1790 for Normal difficulty and 1840 for Master difficulty, with at least 1810 recommended for the final boss on Normal.

Access requires one of the following, as it’s not included in the Season of the Wish pass:

  • Lightfall Deluxe Edition
  • Lightfall Dungeon Key (2,000 Silver) also unlocks the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon.

Start by picking up the “In the Shadow of the Mountain” quest from Ikora Rey in the Tower, then launch the dungeon via the EDZ map.

Navigating the Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon

The dungeon begins with a jumping puzzle. Follow the red flags along the mountainside—if you get blocked, backtrack and stay on the correct path.

Watch out for false chests that spawn enemies without rewards. Look for subtle clues like blue glow or ether effects to find real chests. Continue along the path, cross the bridge, and prepare for the first Encounter.

Rathil, the First Broken Knight of Fikrul – 1st Encounter

Before engaging Rathil, ensure you have the From Whence You Came perk selected in your Seasonal Artifact. This perk boosts your damage against Taken and Scorn enemies, which is crucial throughout the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon.

Locus of Wailing Grief – 2nd Encounter

Hefnd's Vengeance, Blighted Chimaera – 3rd Encounter

Warlord's Ruin Secret Chest Locations

Between the second and third encounters, you can find two secret chests. In a room filled with chests, most are traps set by the Scorn—only one, the non-glowing blue chest, contains dungeon loot. After claiming it, head outside and follow the mountain path on the right side. The second secret chest is located in an open area shortly after.

Exotic & Cosmetic items

Buried Bloodline Exotic Sidearm

The Buried Bloodline Exotic Sidearm is obtainable by defeating the final boss of the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon, Hefnd’s Vengeance, and Blighted Chimera. You can improve your chances of earning this Dungeon Exotic by completing specific triumphs. We’ll soon release a detailed guide on how to obtain this Void Sidearm. In the meantime, you can use our services to acquire Legendary D2 Warlords ruin weapons or achievements.

Warlord’s Ruin Exotic Items

The dungeon also offers several unique rewards, including the new Zira’s Shell Exotic Ghost, a Catalyst for the Buried Bloodline, and two exclusive emblems. Additionally, players can pursue the new Warlord’s Ruin dungeon title, Wrathbearer, which promises to keep you engaged for weeks. If you want to earn that title quickly, our Wrathbearer Title service is available.

Lastly, the Shattered Fortress Emblem can also be earned from this dungeon.

Can You Farm Warlord's Ruin in Destiny 2?

Destiny 2’s Warlord’s Ruin dungeon is farmable as long as it’s the current dungeon. Players can repeatedly attempt any encounter to earn new loot, with drops potentially including items you haven’t yet collected—except for one essential item.

The Buried Bloodline Exotic is not farmable and is limited to one drop per character per weekly reset. You can increase its drop chance by completing specific challenges, such as soloing the dungeon or completing it on Master difficulty, but you’ll still only have up to three chances per week. Once Warlord’s Ruin is no longer the current dungeon and becomes featured, this restriction will be lifted, allowing complete farming of all items, including the Exotic.

For general farming, the first Encounter is exceptionally straightforward and ideal for collecting loot, as it involves simpler mechanics and fewer requirements. Rathil is more straightforward to defeat, especially with Warlords ruin weapons like Well of Radiance and Lament, which are effective in close combat.

The latest dungeon is fully farmable for loot, including legendary drops, even in the early stages after release. This applies to all dungeons released after Grasp of Avarice.

Yes, being one of the easier encounters, the first boss in Warlord's Ruin is ideal for farming. Utilizing a well-balanced subclass like Strand-Tightened can help you achieve quick and efficient runs.

You cannot farm the final boss for its Exotic drop more than once per week per character. This limitation is based on class, not on individual characters. RNG can be challenging, as some players have had to run it many times to get the Exotic. However, farming the other encounters for gear is still possible.
