Strand: A Quick Introduction

As we’ve mentioned above, Strand is the new elemental power added to the game with the Lightfall launch. In essence, it’s a power that allows you to manipulate the fabric of the universe to use new tools when fighting enemies.

The movement-focused subclass brings an entirely new combat experience, and the more players utilize it, the more they love the opportunities Strand presents. So, if you, for some reason, still haven’t unlocked it yet, here’s how you can do it:

  • Complete Lightfall last mission “Desperate Measures”
  • Travel to the Tower
  • Speak with Zavala and Ikora
  • Travel to the Hall of Heroes in Neomuna
  • Meditate to unlock the Strand subclass

But unlocking this power is not enough; to unleash its full potential, you must unlock all Fragments and Aspects that can help you create potent builds. However, this task involves a lot of grind, so let us tell you how you can access these pieces.

How to Unlock Strand Fragments?

For this, you need Strand Meditations, a new currency introduced in Lightfall. By acquiring the needed amount, you can spend them at the Pouka Pond to access the new subclass’s Fragments, Aspects, and Grenade abilities.

So, now you might be wondering, how can you get those Strand meditations? Well, there are a number of ways, such as:

  • Legendary Lightfall campaign completion
  • Public Events on Neomuna, like Terminal Overload
  • Completing Patrols on Neomuna
  • Defeating roaming High-Value Targets
  • Completing activities in the Vex Incursion Zone
  • Locating Lost Sector chests on Neomuna
  • Defeating enemies using Strand

Now that you know that, you probably would like to know how many Strand meditations you need to unlock everything you need. Here are the numbers:

  • Grenade ability – 50 Strand Meditations each
  • Aspects – 150 Strand Meditations each
  • Fragments – 200 Strand Meditations each

Considering there are 14 Fragments, 2 Aspects, and 2 Grenade abilities, you’ll need to invest much time into collecting the currency. So, get ready for tons of grind. But hey, it’ll be worth it in the end!

Once you unlock everything, you can use the power of Strand to the fullest by trying different builds and finding the ones that best fit your goals. So, if you’re looking for the best Strand builds for your Titan based on the Berserker subclass, we have a couple of these whose purpose is to make you unstoppable in PvE activities.

The Suspend Build

This one aims to help you suspend loads of enemies almost infinitely. The build would be excellent for endgame Destiny 2 dungeons, raids (such as Root Of Nightmares), and Legend content. The Exotic you will use is the brand-new Abeyant Leap, which creates perfect synergy with the following Aspects, Fragments, and Abilities.

  • Exotic: Abeyant Leap (Leg armor)
  • Abilities: Shackle Grenade and Towering Barricade
  • Aspects: Drengr’s Lash and Into The Fray
  • Fragments: Thread of Mind, Thread of Continuity, Thread of Generation, and Thread of Fury
  • Weapons: Any Strand weapon
  • Stats: ~100 Resilience and ~70 Recovery
  • Mods: Creating an Orb of Power on the helmet is always recommended; thus, use Siphons that complement your loadout. Similarly, equipping a corresponding Surge mod can significantly benefit the build by making it easier to finish suspended targets.

The Exotic’s perk Puppeteer’s Control enhances Drenger’s Lash by creating ripples that are used to suspend enemies, making it easier to control adds. Eliminating foes will create Tangles and Orbs of Power. The former can grant Woven Mail buff, while the latter can be used to proc Grenade/Utility Kickstart.

The Suspend build will grant you an increased suspend duration, allowing for incredible crowd control. Moreover, it stuns Unstoppable Champions, decreases the damage you are getting thanks to Woven Mail, gives you ability energy, and makes suspending Tormentors real fun.

The Woven Mail Build

This build aims to let you capitalize on Titans’ tanking powers, made possible by abundant sources of Woven Mail. It would perfectly fit Grandmaster Nightfalls. The recommended exotic is Heart of Inmost Light which remains one of the most powerful and popular pieces no matter how the devs try to nerf it. And here are what this build consists of:

  • Exotic: Heart of Inmost Light (Chest armor)
  • Abilities: Grapple and Towering Barricade
  • Aspects: Drengr’s Lash and Into The Fray
  • Fragments: Thread of Generation, Thread of Fury, Thread of Transmutation, and Thread of Warding
  • Weapons: Any Strand weapon
  • Stars: ~90 Resilience and ~72 Recovery
  • Mods: Time Dilation; Charged Up; Strand Weapon Surge; Emergency Reinforcement; Momentum Transfer; Impact Induction; Strand Siphon; Heavy Handed or Firepower (for arms).

The Exotic in this build straightens your abilities and contributes to the cooldown loop sped up due to the equipped Fragments. The Thread of Warding Fragment and Into The Fray Aspect allows you to have continuous uptime on Woven Mail through Tangle and Orbs of Power. And the Thread of Generation that focuses on the ability cooldown makes the build truly potent.

The Woven Mail build provides you with great survivability due to the significant damage reduction due to the Woven Mail buff. In addition, it allows for high abilities uptime, grants melee energy, and generates grenade energy.
