CoD MW3 Ranked Play explained: How does it work?

As Activision highlights, Call Of Duty ranked play MW3 offers a comprehensive competitive multiplayer experience, utilizing rules, restrictions, and maps approved by the Call of Duty League. Track your progress with a visible skill rating and advance through various Skill Divisions and Tiers. The top players will be featured in the Top 250 Leaderboard, with opportunities to claim the title of the best player. To access Cod MW3 ranked Play, players must first achieve MW3 Rank 55. Once unlocked, players will be placed into one of eight Skill Divisions based on their Skill Rating (SR):

SR (Skill Rating) & Divisions

SR Adjustments:

  • Early Wins: Increased SR gains early in Ranked Play to help players reach their appropriate Skill Division more quickly.
  • Top 250 Adjustments: Higher SR deductions for players well beyond their intended Skill Division to enhance competitiveness and curb SR inflation.

End of Season Skill Setback:

  • Bronze to Crimson I: Players will drop three Tiers below their ending Skill Division from the previous Season. For instance, a player finishing Season 1 in Gold III will start Season 2 in Silver III.

Crimson II and Above: Players will begin Season 2 in Diamond I.

How to Earn Ranked Play Rewards

Players can secure rewards through three distinct methods:

  • Rank Rewards: Accessible from the launch and obtainable in any Season. Players can carry forward their Season 1 Rank progression into Season 2.
  • Season Rewards: Exclusive to each Season and available only during that specific Season.
  • End of Season Rewards: Awarded after the Season concludes, reflecting your highest achieved Division or placement within the Top 250 Division.
