TABLE OF CONTENTS
Introduction to Malignant Hearts
Malignant Hearts serve as the primary seasonal mechanic for Diablo 4 Season 1. They function as item enhancements, allowing players to bolster their gear’s power, akin to the role of gems and Aspects in previous seasons. However, it’s crucial to note that Malignant Hearts are exclusive to Seasonal Realms during the Season of the Malignant. Thus, characters in the Eternal (Regular) realms will need access to this unique content.
Understanding the terminology associated with Malignant Hearts is essential:
- Malignant Hearts: Interactable dropped by enemies with the Malignant affix. Interacting with a Malignant Heart allows players to re-challenge the enemy, who, upon defeat, drops a Caged Heart.
- Caged Heart: The actual item players use to enhance their gear. It’s common for players to refer to Caged Hearts as Malignant Hearts, so be prepared for interchangeable use.
Malignant Hearts Types
Malignant Hearts are diverse, with 32 distinct types falling into one of four categories. Each category supports a specific function and is identifiable by its unique color:
- Vicious Hearts (Orange): Tailored for offensive powers.
- Brutal Hearts (Indigo): Designed for defensive capabilities.
- Devious Hearts (Pink): Focused on utility powers.
- Wrathful Hearts (Black/White): Reserved for superpowers, these are the most potent Malignant Hearts.
It’s worth noting that while some Malignant Hearts are class-specific, others are versatile and class-agnostic.
Procuring Malignant Hearts
Acquiring Malignant Hearts is a crucial aspect of Diablo 4’s Season 1 gameplay. Two primary methods to obtain these powerful items are looting and crafting. Let’s delve into each of these methods in more detail.
Looting Malignant Hearts
Looting is the most straightforward way to acquire Malignant Hearts. As you traverse the vast landscapes of Sanctuary, you’ll encounter Elite enemies carrying a Malignant affix. These foes are transformed into Partly Corrupted Monsters, and they drop a Malignant Heart upon their defeat.
During the Burning from Within questline, Cormond provides you with a device known as the Cage of Binding. This tool allows you to absorb the Malignance from the defeated enemy, summoning a Fully Corrupted Monster in the process. Be prepared for a challenging fight, as these Fully Corrupted versions often come with reinforcements.
Once you’ve conquered the Fully Corrupted enemy, it will drop a Caged Heart, which you can loot and socket into your gear. Remember, Caged Hearts cannot be traded and, unlike gems, are destroyed when replaced.
As you progress and unlock higher World Tiers, you’ll have the opportunity to loot more potent Malignant Hearts from increasingly formidable Corrupted Monsters. However, be aware that Malignant Hearts despawn after a few minutes, so don’t delay collecting them.
Crafting Malignant Hearts
Crafting offers another avenue to obtain Malignant Hearts. If you have Malignant Hearts, you don’t wish to keep, you can take them to Cormond’s wagon to be salvaged. The salvaging process yields Malignant Ichor of a corresponding color, which can be used to upgrade and craft Malignant Hearts and to create Malignant Invokers.
Here’s a breakdown of the crafting process:
- Each Vicious, Brutal, or Devious Heart yields 5-15 Malignant Ichor of a corresponding type.
- Each Wrathful Heart yields 2-5 Malignant Ichor of any other Heart type.
Ichor can also be harvested from lesser Malignant Monsters, making Malignant tunnels an excellent place to farm.
When crafting a Malignant Heart, you can specify the type you want using the correct combination of Ichors. However, within the specified type, crafted Malignant Hearts are random but will always be usable by your character. To craft a Malignant Heart, you will need 35 Ichor for each type you don’t want.
For instance, you would need 35 Devious Ichor and 35 Vicious Ichor to create a random Brutal Heart. Crafting offers control over the type of Malignant Heart you can acquire, making it a valuable method for players seeking specific enhancements.
Effective Utilization of Malignant Hearts
Harnessing the power of Malignant Hearts is essential for maximizing your gameplay experience in Diablo 4’s Season 1. These unique item enhancements can significantly bolster your gear, but understanding how to use them effectively is crucial. Let’s dive deeper into the intricacies of utilizing Malignant Hearts.
Understanding Infested Sockets
For Malignant Hearts to be functional, your gear must feature Infested sockets (often called Malignant sockets). These specialized sockets are distinct from the regular gem sockets in the Eternal realms. During the Season of the Malignant, jewelry gear that players loot will occasionally come equipped with Infested Sockets.
There are three primary flavors of Infested sockets:
- Brutal Sockets: Compatible with Brutal Hearts.
- Devious Sockets: Designed for Devious Hearts.
- Vicious Sockets: Tailored for Vicious Hearts.
It’s essential to match the type of Malignant Heart with the corresponding Infested socket to harness its power. However, Wrathful Hearts are an exception, as they can fit into any Infested socket.
Once you have gear with the appropriate Infested sockets, you can begin socketing your Malignant Hearts.
Remember, Malignant Hearts are permanently destroyed when replaced in your gear. The original will be lost if you wish to swap out a Malignant Heart for another. However, a Jeweler can still remove regular gems without being destroyed.
Limitations and Strategy
Malignant Hearts can only be socketed into jewelry, limiting you to a maximum of three in your gear at any given time. While you can benefit from multiple Brutal, Devious, or Vicious Hearts, you can only ever benefit from one Wrathful Malignant Heart. This limitation requires strategic thinking when deciding which Malignant Hearts to socket, ensuring you achieve the optimal balance of offensive, defensive, and utility powers.
Maximizing Benefits
To make the most of Malignant Hearts, consider the following tips:
- Diversify Your Hearts: Instead of socketing three of the same type, consider using a mix to balance your character’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Upgrade Regularly: As you progress and loot or craft more potent Malignant Hearts, ensure you regularly upgrade your socketed hearts to maximize your gear’s potential.
- Consult with Others: Engage with the Diablo 4 community to discuss and learn about optimal Malignant Heart combinations for specific character builds. But it is better to contact our D4 boosting service, where professional players will help you.

Caged Heart of the Prudent Heart
- Type: Devious
- Once again, thanks to Unbridled Rage, the bonus from this Heart enhances your Critical Strike Chance significantly.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- An intriguing power functioning as an automatic Rupture with a damage multiplier. It comes into effect on Critical Strike, making it a force to reckon with.
Rend Barbarian
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This unique Malignant Heart cycles through various bonuses every 20 kills, providing a dynamic boost to your Barbarian’s capabilities.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart is excellent for Barbarian builds that spend a high amount of Fury every second, providing a solid DPS upgrade and helping to trigger the Gushing Wounds effect.
- Type: Devious
- This Heart is beneficial for builds that spend a lot of Fury and need to maintain high Fury levels. It increases the Fury generation, which can be a strategic advantage.
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart provides additional defensive power, which is particularly useful given the recent changes to survivability. It pairs well with Temerity, allowing you to generate barriers repeatedly.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart enhances your damage over time and bleed effects. It’s particularly effective with crowd control abilities like Challenging Shout and Weapon Master’s Aspect.
Whirlwind Barbarian
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart provides a massive bonus to Critical Strike Chance, making it an excellent choice for Whirlwind Barbarians constantly damaging surrounding enemies.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart is beneficial for builds that maintain high health levels at all times. It saves Fury and increases the damage of your next Whirlwind, helping to alleviate resource management issues.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart synergizes beautifully with our primary ability’s increased Critical Strike Chance. The AoE damage provided is massive, making this an exceptional choice for Whirlind Barbarians in all scenarios except single-target encounters.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart cycles through various bonuses every 20 kills, providing a dynamic boost to your Barbarian’s capabilities. It offers robust Fury Regeneration, a helpful boost to survivability, and improved Attack Speed.
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart provides the potential for severe AoE damage while helping to bolster our survivability. It is particularly effective when using Rallying Cry and Challenging Shout as frequently as possible.
- Type: Brutal
- This defensive Heart is powerful when paired with Temerity. The healing provided when Barrier is active continuously feeds into Barrier strength, enhancing your survivability.
Pulverize Druid
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
Caged Heart of the Unconstrained Beast
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is a World Tier IV Malignant Heart. When a Crowd Control effect hits you, it has a good chance to proc an Unstoppable ability, making it especially useful at high levels when Crowd Control is particularly challenging.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart cycles through various bonuses every 20 kills. Given that Pulverize Werebear is an AoE monster, you’ll be getting a lot of extra exciting effects as you plow your way through piles of enemies.
- Type: Brutal
- With the nerf to Grizzly Rage‘s Unstoppable generation, you’ll want to use Aspect of Mending Stone even more to extend the duration of Earthen Bulwark. This Heart regenerates Life during that extended Barrier window, and the increased Barrier generation makes it harder to beat it down before it goes for the entire duration.
Caged Heart of Inexorable Force
- Type: Devious
- This Heart is pure fun. Grizzly Rage is an excellent skill for working over groups, and having them all sucked in to close range is great for several reasons. This build has a lot of passives that work off Close Range mobs, and the idea of Trampling all over these stunned enemies makes a bear’s Heart sing.
- Type: Devious
- Pulverize consumes a lot of Primary Resource, so why not get an advantage? Stunning your foes after spending large amounts of Resource plays well off your various passives and other abilities that give you extra damage vs. crowd-controlled enemies, including those who are Stunned.
Werewolf Tornado Druid
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- Given that the majority of our attacks are Critical Strikes due to the effect of Earthen Might and stacking the Critical Strike Chance affix, we likely won’t notice the damage reduction to our non-Critical Strikes, making this Caged Heart S-Tier for the Wolfnado.
Caged Heart of the Unconstrained Beast
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- After the changes in Patch 1.1.0 and even the adjustments of 1.1.1, the Druid fared decently well. This build, in particular, will still be solid and fun to play. One of the more significant changes we received was the rework to Grizzly Rage‘s Unstoppable, removing the ability for it to last the entire duration of the skill. But this Caged Heart activates the very thing we lost. Grizzly Rage turns back on whenever we’re Stunned, made Frozen, or Knocked Down.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Caged Heart is great for the 20% increase in Attack Speed and the 15% chance for Core and Basic Skills to restore our Spirit fully. And considering that we’ll be able to pick this up at any difficulty, we’ll want to run this Heart throughout leveling.
Caged Heart of Inexorable Force
- Type: Devious
- One of the more challenging parts of the Wolfnado setup is ensuring that your Tornadoes can reach the target you’re trying to kill. While Grizzly Rage is active, this Caged Heart will drag enemies toward you, allowing you to drop your Tornado spam right where they’ve gathered.
- Type: Brutal
- We did lose some Damage Reduction in the most recent patch, with the Nerf to Storm Strike‘s effect. But this Caged Heart provides some of that lost percentage back in the form of increased Damage Reduction by way of suppressed damage becoming an explosion of Fire.
Bone Spear Necromancer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
Caged Heart of the Decrepit Aura
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart is an excellent way to apply your Decrepify, especially in the game’s early stages. It can also be used to cast Iron Maiden, significantly boosting your defensive capabilities manually.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart is ideal for a build that heavily relies on Critical Strikes. It significantly increases your critical strike damage, and with a nearly 100% Critical Strike chance in the endgame, the debuff becomes irrelevant.
Caged Heart of the Sacrilegious
- Type: Vicious
- While this Heart can be annoying as it constantly triggers Corpse Tendrils, it also provides a stun and a slow without additional input. It’s an intriguing choice, even if it might not be the first pick for everyone.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- Although this Heart hasn’t been seen in the game yet, it seems to be a potentially powerful choice among the Wrathful Hearts, offering a variety of bonuses every 20 kills.
Caged Heart of the Great Feast
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart provides a significant damage boost, making it highly desirable if you can manage the essence drain. The added damage is hard to resist, making it a top pick for many players.
Bone Spirit Necromancer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart provides a good attack speed to quickly switch between Reap and Bone Spear, with the former used as a fast Essence generator whenever we run low on it for the Bone Spear. The attack speed will allow us to kill 20 enemies quickly to move on to the next cycle.
- Type: Devious
- Between all the Essence spent using Bone Spear and the occasional Bone Spirit, this Malignant Heart won’t take long to trigger a massive AOE Stun. This AOE stun becomes an extra Essence generator while equipping Aspect of the Umbral.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart increases your Bone Spear damage every 5 seconds at the expense of consuming Life points. It’s a good tradeoff because the Bone Spear won’t consume Essence, which translates into being able to cast an extra Bone Spear or spending that Essence on a free Bone Spirit instead.
Caged Heart of the Decrepit Aura
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart allows us to add a free Decrepify, providing a defensive damage reduction and crowd control curse to all enemies within its aura range. It even has the potential via RNG to last longer than a manual Decrepify.
Caged Heart of the Great Feast
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart provides a significant damage boost, making it highly desirable if you can manage the essence drain. The increased damage is entirely worth it. There are no cooldowns or requirements other than draining our Essence slowly.
Sever Necromancer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is a perfect match for this build as it employs multiple types of Crowd Control and Shadow DoTs. If you’re utilizing the Penitent Greaves, it’s even more beneficial, adding another layer of crowd control. When a boss is Staggered, it’s the perfect opportunity to deploy some corpses with Blood Mist and detonate them for a potent Blight effect.
- Type: Devious
- Your existence in this build hinges on your Essence, making this Heart an excellent choice to prevent excessive loss of it when encountering Resource draining effects and to boost your Resource Generation rate. A high roll on this Heart is crucial.
Caged Heart of the Decrepit Aura
- Type: Devious
- The Sever build is a close-quarters combat build, and this is where you see the benefits. Having 5 enemies near triggers an aura that provides a free Decrepify. Unleash those Corpse Tendrils!
Death Trap Rogue
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart is a game-changer, significantly alleviating our Energy consumption issues. Every five seconds, instead of costing Energy, Twisting Blades consumes life but also inflicts significantly more damage.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Malignant Heart is incredibly potent for us – every bonus it cycles through is beneficial and incredibly impactful with our build. Attack speed is always a boon, resource restoration addresses a known weak point in the build, and Barriers provide an extra layer of defense while we’re engaged in melee combat.
Caged Heart of the Prudent Heart
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart provides us with a substantial defensive boost. Essentially acting as an “emergency invincibility” ability, we’ll gain Immunity after taking significant hits – allowing us to escape the danger zone and continue the fight.
- Type: Brutal
- While not quite as effective as the Aspect of the Prudent Heart, this Malignant Heart can serve as a backup – it’s still strong defensively for us; there are better choices. Use this if you don’t have any other more appealing options.
- Type: Devious
- In a perfect world, we’d have one socket for each type of Malignant Heart, and this would be our top choice for Devious. However, while this is still a potent Malignant Heart, it is overshadowed by our other options. Use this if your sockets are not cooperating or if you desire that extra layer of Crowd Control in your arsenal.
Flurry Rogue
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
Caged Heart of Vile Apothecary
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart supercharges our capabilities, offering a chance to trigger all Imbuements at once without a cooldown. It’s a perfect match for the Flurry Rogue build, enhancing the impact of Poison Imbuement-related Passives for a potent offensive edge.
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart offers a significant reduction in incoming damage. By tactically deploying our Dark Shroud ability, we can tilt the battle in our favor, bolstering our defenses and dealing substantial damage to nearby adversaries.
- Type: Vicious
- Although not overwhelmingly potent, this Heart consistently grants a minor damage boost. This boost becomes more reliable as our Critical Strike Chance escalates. It’s likely one of the premier early choices since players can obtain this Heart in any World Tier.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart excels in all scenarios against large enemy groups or Staggered bosses. While some might prefer it over the Caged Heart of Vile Apothecary, especially before reaching World Tier 4, the latter is believed to yield a more consistent damage increment. Remember, only one Wrathful Heart can be equipped simultaneously.
- Type: Vicious
- On the surface, this Heart appears impressive. However, your character’s Critical Strike Chance should be at least 33% to benefit from its damage boost consistently. The higher this chance, the more significant the damage increment. Thus, while it’s a valuable addition, ensure your gear provides sufficient Critical Strike Chance to support it.
Penetrating Shot Rogue
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart is a boon for a build emphasizing Critical Strikes and Damage. Given our build’s high Critical Strike chance, non-Critical Strikes will be rare. This Heart is the top choice for our build.
Caged Heart of the Vile Apothecary
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is highly potent for us. Since we’re always aiming to use Penetrating Shot with an Imbuement skill, this Heart allows us to gain multiple Imbuements at once, for free, and at a buffed strength!
Caged Heart of the Prudent Heart
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart offers a significant defensive boost. It acts as an emergency invincibility button, granting Immunity after taking substantial hits, allowing us to escape danger and continue the fight.
- Type: Brutal
- While less effective than the Aspect of the Prudent Heart, this Heart is a decent defensive option. Use this if you don’t have more appealing options.
- Type: Devious
- Generally, Devious Malignant Hearts aren’t favored for this build due to their underwhelming options. However, this Heart can serve as a filler while you’re trying to craft or collect the other Hearts on the list.
Rapid Fire Rogue
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
Caged Heart of the Vile Apothecary
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is a must-have if you can get it. The chance to trigger all Imbuement effects from every attack is compelling. It’s a World Tier IV Heart, so acquiring it might take some time, but it’s worth the effort.
- Type: Devious
- While Lucky Hit isn’t our top choice, this Heart enhances our ability to knock back enemies, keeping them at bay. It complements our Marksman Skills, namely Forceful Arrow, Rapid Fire, and Rain of Arrows, contributing to our control over the battlefield.
- Type: Brutal
- With this Heart, you’ll drop a Shadow Decoy Trap every 20 seconds at most, thanks to the consistent use of Dark Shroud. This trap not only taunts but also deals with exploding Shadow Damage, adding a fun and practical element to your arsenal.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart synergizes well with our build, using Critical Strikes to create explosions. It’s a World Tier III Heart and is Wrathful, which means it’s uniquely equipped. Use it if you get it and don’t have the Caged Heart of the Vile Apothecary.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart adds an exciting AoE effect to your build, causing explosions and lightning. It’s a delightful addition that enhances your offensive capabilities.
Twisting Blades Rogue
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- With a high Critical Strike Chance, this Heart regularly activates, transforming our damage into an amplified AoE explosion. It’s one of the top three Malignant Hearts for our build.
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart significantly reduces extra damage, making it the perfect choice for a Brutal socket. It’s one of the top three Malignant Hearts for our build.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart significantly aids resource management, especially when the gear isn’t as optimized. It’s one of the top three Malignant Hearts for our build.
Caged Heart of the Prudent Heart
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart offers a powerful effect that allows us to tank specific one-shot abilities from enemies, smoothing out gameplay overall. It’s a good alternative if you can’t find all three optimal Malignant Hearts mentioned above.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Wrathful Heart cycles through powerful bonuses that improve our build overall. It’s a good alternative if you can’t find all three optimal Malignant Hearts mentioned above.
Arc Lash Sorcerer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart becomes exceptionally strong in the late game. It provides extra attack speed and fully restores your Mana when using Arc Lash, enabling you to generate more Ball Lightning. Additionally, it grants a free Barrier, which can help activate the Conceited Aspect, Storm Swell Aspect, or Aspect of Fortune, enhancing your overall performance.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is a perfect fit for our Crit-focused build. It boosts our damage and increases the stored damage each enemy erupts with, making it a win-win choice.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart is perfect for our build as we use Fire Bolt as our Enchantment, dealing both Lightning and Fire damage. Although we can’t activate a third element from Aspect of the Dark Dance, this Heart remains exceptionally strong and worthwhile.
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart is worth mentioning as we use multiple Defensive skills. Teleport, Flame Shield, and Frost Nova can all take advantage of this effect. Plus, with the constant pickup of Crackling Energy orbs, we’ll be using Teleport every few seconds.
- Type: Brutal
- As an Arc Lash build, we’re always up close and personal, so having a second immunity in case our Flame Shield is on cooldown is beneficial. While not the most robust Heart, having more defensive options is always a good idea, especially when tackling Nightmare dungeons or other endgame content.
Chain Lightning Sorcerer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart provides an insane damage boost. As long as our health is topped off, our Chain Lightning costs Health instead of Mana, resulting in extra damage. This allows us to spam dozens of Chain Lightning without paying the Mana cost. Plus, it deals with Shadow Damage, essential for the next Malignant Heart on our list.
- Type: Vicious
- The aspect of Tal’Rasha is perfect for most Sorcerer builds because there’s a common theme in using Fire Bolt as our Enchantment. Since we are dealing Lightning and Fire damage, we can activate this Malignant Heart twice. However, thanks to Aspect of the Dark Dance, we also can deal Shadow damage, so we can easily maintain three stacks of this mighty buff.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- Since our build is highly focused on Crits, we can get a lot of use out of this Malignant Heart. While we do have some AOE potential with Unstable Currents and Chain Lightning, this not only boosts our AOE damage, but the stored damage each enemy erupts with is also increased, so it’s a win-win.
- Type: Brutal
- This Malignant Heart is worth mentioning because we use multiple Defensive skills. Teleport, Ice Armor, & Frost Nova can all benefit from this effect. Plus, since we are picking up dozens of Crackling Energy orbs, we will be using Teleport every few seconds, which is pretty good, but it’s still not the strongest Malignant Heart once you get into the late game.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart becomes exceptionally strong in the late game. It provides extra attack speed and restores your Mana using Spark and Chain Lightning. Additionally, it grants a free Barrier, which can help activate Conceited Aspect, Storm Swell Aspect or Aspect of Fortune , enhancing your overall performance.
Conjuration Sorcerer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- Due to its tri-elemental build, this Heart is a must-have for the Conjuration Sorcerer. Casting Lightning Spear, Hydra, and Ice Blades in rapid succession results in a solid damage boost, especially with a decent roll on this Malignant Heart.
Caged Heart of the Prudent Heart
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart improves your survivability by providing an additional source of Immunity, especially useful when you get caught without an active barrier. It can save you from near-fatal blows, complementing the Deep Freeze effect.
- Type: Brutal
- Description: Extra barrier generation is always helpful, especially considering the amount of barrier uptime the Conjuration Sorcerer gains from the Protection passive. It’s not a game-changer, but extra defensive bonuses can be crucial at higher levels.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is phenomenal and would rank at the top of burning was a significant source of damage for the Conjuration Sorcerer. However, it still proves helpful as we apply many different forms of crowd control (stun, freeze, immobilize), resulting in frequent cases of Elite monsters becoming unstoppable. This allows us to take advantage of the 110+% damage bonus quite often.
Firewall Sorcerer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is a game-changer for the Firewall Sorcerer. With the build applying multiple Crowd Controls, this Heart significantly increases damage over time. It pairs well with Aspect of Engulfing Flames, adding more heat to your attacks.
- Type: Brutal
- This Heart perfectly complements the Sorcerer’s kit, providing offensive and defensive traits. With four defensive skills in our lineup, this Malignant Heart is always in use. Its fire damage aligns well with the entire build.
- Type: Vicious
- A nod to Diablo 3’s Set Bonus, this Heart increases damage as you cycle through elements. With the build naturally using Cold and Fire, you can gain a potential 24% multiplicative damage increase.
- Type: Devious
- This Heart helps you fight back against Crowd Control. In the endgame, you’ll face a lot of Crowd Control, so having this Malignant Heart in your lineup is a huge help. It also synergizes well with Aspect of Creeping Death.
- Type: Devious
- This Heart adds another layer of synergy to the build. With Aspect of Creeping Death and Aspect of Retaliation, you might find yourself welcoming Crowd Control. The fire damage aligns perfectly with the build, and by using Flame Shield, you can control when this Heart’s effect triggers. This Malignant Heart turns the tables on your enemies, making it a valuable addition to your arsenal.
Ice Shards Sorcerer
Aspect Selections
Malignant Hearts
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart enhances your damage as you rotate between different elemental damage types. The secret is its interaction with Aspect of the Dark Dance, which deals Shadow Damage and provides an additional Tal’Rasha stack, boosting your damage even further.
- Type: Vicious
- As previously mentioned, Aspect of the Dark Dance interacts beautifully with Aspect of Tal’Rasha. It also helps with Mana issues in the early and mid stages of leveling, effectively making every 5th to 6th cast free depending on your Attack Speed. It’s almost like a budget Avalanche! This Heart is a valuable addition to your arsenal, especially during the leveling process.
Caged Heart of the Malignant Pact
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This rare Heart is a gem if you can find it. It aids with mana regeneration, boosts your attack speed, and provides a small Barrier. It’s beneficial in boss fights where you can control the bonus you’ll have before entering the room.
- Type: Vicious
- This Heart becomes incredibly powerful in the endgame. Once you’ve reached nearly 100% Critical Chance and have sufficient resource regeneration, it can significantly increase your Critical Strike Damage, devastating your critical hits.
- Type: Wrathful (Super Power)
- This Heart is ideal for high-tier Nightmare Dungeons. It turns all monsters hit by your spells into ticking time bombs, and the better your item rolls, the higher the bomb damage bonus gets. This Heart can decimate high-health monster groups, and thanks to numerous Freeze effects, you can perfectly time these explosions.
