Achieving Endgame Success in Diablo IV

Diablo 4 Season 4 has been out for a while, and a lot of players ask themselves what they should do once they reach the endgame. If you’ve hit level 100 and are unsure of what to do next, this guide is for you. We will walk you through the best strategies to maximize your character’s potential and enjoy everything Diablo 4 has to offer.

Farm Bosses for Uniques

The first thing you should focus on is making your build as strong as possible. To do this, you’ll need to farm specific bosses for unique items. Each boss has a loot table that can drop specific items you need. For example, if you’re a Sorcerer looking for the Fractured Winter Glass, you can find it by defeating Lord Zir in the Fractured Peaks. Use the Boss Loot Table Sheet on Maxroll to target the items you need.

Uber Bosses

There are also Uber versions of bosses that drop even better rewards. These bosses are more challenging but offer a higher volume of loot. Uber bosses like Duriel and Andariel can drop Uber Uniques, which are extremely rare and powerful items. You can also craft Uber Uniques using Resplendent Sparks, which you can obtain from various sources like Uber Lilith and tormented bosses.

Greater Affixes

In the endgame, you’ll want to focus on items with Greater Affixes. These are indicated by two small circles on the item’s icon. Greater Affixes roll much higher than normal affixes and are crucial for maximizing your build. You can find these affixes in various activities like Hell Tide, Nightmare Dungeons, and the Pit. Once you have decent gear, stop bothering with items that don’t have Greater Affixes.

Spend Your Obols

Obols are a valuable resource in the endgame. You can use them to craft powerful elixirs or buy items from vendors. Obols can also roll Greater Affixes, making them a great way to target farm specific gear. For example, if you need better gloves, you can spend your Obols on gloves until you get the desired affixes.

Build Recommendations

Choosing the right build is crucial for surviving and thriving in Diablo IV’s endgame. Here are some top-tier builds for each class:

Class

Build

Name

Skills

Playstyle

Barbarian

Bash

Versatile, easy to play, high Damage, and satisfying.

Sorcerer

Fire

Bolt

It requires precise positioning and active gameplay to ensure damage remains high and consistent.

Rogue

Rapid

Fire

Fast clear speed, high stagger application, an active gameplay style.

Druid

Wind

Shear

It uses Defensive Skills to help it increase its Fortify and Attack Speed

                              Necromancer

Bone        Spirit

Huge damage output and is capable of mowing down large groups of enemies while also maintaining high DPS

Paragon Glyphs

Paragon Glyphs are still very important in the endgame. Your goal should be to level all your glyphs to at least level 15, which increases their radius and effectiveness. Ideally, you should aim to level them up to 21. You can level up your glyphs quickly by farming high-level Nightmare Dungeons, as Blizzard has buffed glyph XP this season.

Legendary Aspects

Upgrading your Codex of Power is essential for maximizing your build. When you find an item with a snowflake icon in the top right corner, it means it will upgrade your Codex. Salvage these items to permanently upgrade your Codex, allowing you to imprint these powers on your gear indefinitely.

Endgame Tempering and Masterworking

Tempering your gear is crucial for maximizing your character’s power. You can temper each piece of gear twice in World Tier 4, adding additional stats from different categories. This process is relatively inexpensive and should be done regularly to keep your gear optimized.

Masterworking is the real endgame leveling system and is much more expensive than tempering. You can Masterwork your gear up to 12 times, with critical upgrades at levels 4, 8, and 12. Masterworking raises all the stats on your gear and can be done on both regular and unique items. To Masterwork your gear, you’ll need materials like Obesite, Inth, and Neath Iron, which you can farm in the Pit.

More Gearing Tips

  • Check for Max Level Powers: Ensure that all your legendary powers are at their maximum level. This can make a significant difference in your build’s effectiveness.
  • Target Farm with Obols: Use Obols to target farm specific gear pieces that you need to improve.
  • Focus on Greater Affixes: Only keep and upgrade items with Greater Affixes to ensure you’re getting the best possible stats.

Grind the Pit

The Pit is one of the main endgame activities. It has 200 levels, and the difficulty ramps up significantly as you progress. The highest clear in the world is around level 147, so getting into the triple digits is a significant achievement. Unfortunately, there’s no official leaderboard, but it’s still a great way to challenge yourself.

Make Alts

Creating alternate characters can be a fun way to experience different playstyles and builds. Each class offers a unique gameplay experience, and experimenting with different builds can keep the game fresh and exciting.

Season Journey & Iron Wolves

The Season Journey offers various challenges and rewards. Completing all the chapters can be tough but rewarding. The Iron Wolves quest chain is another significant endgame activity that offers valuable rewards, including Resplendent Sparks.

Farm Uber Uniques

Hunting for Uber Uniques can be a long-term goal. These items are extremely rare but offer unparalleled power. You can farm bosses like Duriel and Andariel or use Resplendent Sparks to craft the Uber Uniques you need.

Dungeon Tactics

Endgame dungeons in Diablo IV are relentless. So stock up on potions and elixirs before entering a dungeon. Balance your party wisely between tank, DPS and support role. Here are some tactics to help you conquer them:

  • Mob Control: Prioritize crowd control abilities to manage large groups of enemies.
  • Positioning: Keep your distance from dangerous enemies and utilize the environment for cover.
  • Resource Management: Use your skills and potions wisely to avoid running out during critical moments.

Boss Fights:

  • Learn Patterns: Study the boss’s attack patterns and adapt your strategy accordingly.
  • Focus Fire: Coordinate with your team to focus on the boss or key minions.
  • Avoid AoE Attacks: Stay mobile and avoid standing in harmful areas.
