The Division 2 Year 5
The Division 2 Year 5 will officially begin in early June 2023. Season 1 will be called Broken Wings, featuring a new rogue-lite game mode named Descent. Players will be able to run it solo or with a team. The more runs they complete, the more potent gear they’ll obtain. While beginning, players won’t have their gear from Main; instead, they will have to lvl up to acquire it. The game will fully restart itself upon the player’s death. You’ll discover new information on Black Tusk, the Division, and more by playing Descent. A Descent beta test will be run for PC on April 21, 2023.
Broken Wings will also include the Castle Settlement reconstruction and a brand new Manhunt target (former DC Aquarium director Mari Singh). But this Manhunt is a little unusual because gamers won’t be killing the target; rather than that, they’ll need to save the hostages taken by Natalya Sokolova and the Black Tusk. Each character will provide the player with vital information to continue the game.
Ubisoft also revealed its Roadmap for Year 5, which will feature new Incursions, Manhunts, leagues, and apparel events. It will consist of three additional seasons:
- Season 2: Puppeteers. It will feature a challenging new incursion as you venture out to the Merrit to confront the cleaners.
- Season 3: Vanguard. We will return to New York again, where we will find new revelations about Aaaron Keeners and his rogues.
- Season 4: Black Diamond. This season will feature a new story, zones, main missions, and a brand new end-game structure.
Also, The Division 2 and Resident Evil will again team together to offer players the chance to purchase a Leon Kennedy RPD outfit. It will be available to gamers that check-in April 25-May 9, 2023. The Chris Redfield S.T.A.R.S. outfit, Rebecca Chambers S.T.A.R.S. Outfit, Jill Valentine S.T.A.R.S. Outfit, and Umbrella Corporation Operative (H.U.N.K.) outfits are just a few of the new outfits in the collection that agents can farm.
Players must own the expansion Lords of New York to enjoy this content. However, the Descent mode will be available for free for all agents.
The Division Heartland
A Deep Dive for The Division Heartland took place during the live stream. In short, the plot of Heartland centers on Division agents assisting Agent Mackenzie Reed in finding the rogue commander Killian Tower. Initially assigned to Boston, Reed began pursuing Killian Tower after he killed her team. Along with the agents, she must also learn the mysteries of Silver Creek, a small town where the Dollar Flu acts differently, as they pursue their goal.
The gameplay still resembles the first two Division games in many ways. But they are adding aspects of survival to the game. Players must prepare their go-bags with different things, from ammunition to water. Dehydration will make them vulnerable regarding their mobility, stamina, etc. Additionally, they are creating roaming zones where the infection is more powerful, and entry requires preparation.
The gameplay will also feature 3 classes:
- Survivalist
- Medic
- Weapons Expert
Players can tailor their skills to their play style using them, as every class has an active and a passive skill. For instance, a Weapons Expert may mark their foes to blast them with their weapon and can also use Assault Turrets. The Survivalist can detect loot and use a UAV drone to locate foes.
If you are eager to test Heartland, you can register at the official website for the closed beta test. If you are selected, you can invite an extra five players to play with your buddies.
The Division Resurgence
Division Resurgence will focus on filling the storyline between The Division 1 and 2. Additionally, Obisoft claimed that users would gain access to brand-new signature gear and weapons. However, they didn’t make it clear what these are in detail.
Resurgence is a Division game specially created for mobile devices. You will be able to play it on either iOS or Android. The gameplay will be similar to other The Division games, including looting, turning rogue, third-person shooting mechanics, etc. Additionally, it will work with PvPvE elements, allowing users to turn rogue and combat other gamers to acquire loot. The famed Dark Zone and other Players vs. Player modes will also be included. You’ll be able to play both alone and with your buddies.
They also disclosed that a beta test would take place in the summer of 2023. To register, interested players should visit the official website.
