The Plot Premise

The Warmind Rasputin has been a recurring character in both games of the Destiny franchise. For those of you who don’t know, Rasputin is an artificial intelligence created by humans to control and operate humanity’s military might against all threats. It was created centuries before the main events of both games. Rasputin is a very curious entity in the lore, and there is a lot of debate going around about whether this AI is pure evil or good. Rasputin’s main goal, as programmed by its creators, is to preserve and protect the human race by any means necessary. This means that over the course of both games, Rasputin’s decisions have been perceived as both harmful and helpful by other characters in the game, while still serving the same purpose. But we digress.

The events of the current season see the Hive’s War God trying to seize control over Rasputin to use it in its own evil plans. To be more specific, she is after Warmind’s network of satellites, which she intends to use as a weapon to destroy the Last City. To prevent that from happening, the faction called Vanguard has initiated a series of secret operations that will be completed by Guardians equipped with Warmind’s latest arsenal. A team of agents that execute these operations are called Seraphs and Guardians will come to their aid.

New Activities

The operations mentioned above are a new in-game activity that is a lot like the Strikes. Players can queue up for the so-called Heist Battlegrounds, get assigned to a fire team, and complete these missions. The Heists have a particular gameplay style to them. You’ll be working together with your teammates to bypass various security systems and fight the Hive goons along the way. You can expect to be challenged by a variety of mechanics that you could have experienced in other PvE activities.

Besides the Heists, we get a new Exotic Mission called “Operation: Seraph’s Shield.” The goal of this mission is to infiltrate a highly protected Braytech orbital platform situated right above the Last City, bypass the numerous security protocols, and bring Rasputin back to life.

Seasonal Exotic Quest

Starting on December 20, 2022, players will be able to acquire a special weapon called Revision Zero. This new exotic Scout rifle has a few unique things about it.

First of all, players will have to unlock it. Compared to exotics added in previous seasons that were unlocked by progressing through the season pass, Revision Zero will require players to complete a series of quests to be able to add it to their collection.

Secondly, through the course of the season, players will be able to unlock multiple catalysts for this gun. Each catalyst will add a unique mechanic to Revision Zero, and players will be able to equip and use the one they like best. Previously, there was only one catalyst per exotic weapon.
