For Sundered Doctrine, the Contest Mode will run for 48 hours, offering more time to conquer the dungeon, but still keeping the challenge high for those eager to be the first.

Sundered Doctrine Contest Mode: The Ultimate Challenge
Contest Mode lasts 48 hours from the dungeon’s release. This means Sundered Doctrine will be available in its toughest form from 9:00 AM PT on February 7, 2025, until 9:00 AM PT on February 9, 2025. For players in different time zones: PT is UTC-8 during the winter and UTC-7 during the summer. Be sure to check the local start time for your region.
Contest Mode offers the most valuable rewards—exclusive Emblems and guaranteed Exotic weapons—but the challenge here is serious. After the first team completes the dungeon, Normal Mode will unlock, with a lower difficulty level suited for players who prefer a more relaxed experience.
Main Features of Sundered Doctrine Contest Mode
- Aggressive Enemies: Enemies deal more damage and are more aggressive.
- Resurrection Tokens: Plan your revives carefully—limited tokens make each decision critical.
- Enrage Mechanics: Some encounters have time or phase limits, adding additional pressure.
- Fixed Power Level: Even if your Power Level is higher than 1995, it will be capped at 1995, so having the right build and coordination is key.
To begin Sundered Doctrine in Contest Mode, every member of your fireteam (3 players) must:
- Own the Final Shape Dungeon Key (the dungeon won’t be accessible without it).
- Have completed the Drowning Labyrinth quest, which unlocks entry to the dungeon.
- Have a Power Level of 1995 to stand a chance against the enemies.
Successfully completing Contest Mode in the first 48 hours grants:
- Exclusive Emblem: Only awarded to those who complete the dungeon in the first two days.
- Guaranteed Exotic Weapon: Be among the first to try the new powerful gear.
- Dungeon Race Trophy: The first team to complete the dungeon will be awarded this prestigious prize (each fireteam member receives one).
If Contest Mode proves too tough or you miss the chance to be among the first, Normal Mode will unlock after the leading team’s victory. This mode offers a lower difficulty and fewer rewards but still lets you enjoy the dungeon’s atmosphere.
World First Criteria: How to Win the Race
To be recognized as the official winner of the Sundered Doctrine Dungeon Race and claim the Dungeon Race Trophy, your team must meet three conditions:
- Open the Final Chest: Simply defeating the last boss isn’t enough—your team must collect the loot from the final chest.
- Collect Loot from All Stages: At least one player on your team must collect loot from every stage of the dungeon. Missing loot or using rewards from a previous run will lead to disqualification.
- First Complete Run: This must be the first successful run for all team members. Having a prior full clear will disqualify you.
Only the first team to meet all these conditions will officially be recognized as the winner of the race.
