Crafted Gear Cap Is 636 ilvl
Blizzard has revealed that crafted gear in War Within will cap at an item level of 636 (Myth 5/6), maintaining its relative power level compared to Dragonflight. A very important change, as it means you can no longer quickly equip best-in-slot gear; you’ll need to complete Mythic raids.
Initially, players were worried that with the Myth track extending to 6 upgrade levels in The War Within, crafted gear would lag, capping at only Myth 2/6 and being much weaker than in Dragonflight. However, this concern has been alleviated, as crafted gear being increased to 636 item level places it just one upgrade level below the maximum Myth upgrade level.
