One of the brand-new triumphs for the Swordbearer title is the hardest one-off challenge you’ve ever had, definitely in the last couple of years. We’ve prepared a guide about how to complete the Feather-Light triumph which requires you to finish the abyss encounter, the first encounter of Crota’s End, without any of the six people on your fire team hitting x10 Weight of Darkness debuff. If you want to know more about the encounter, read our comprehensive guide, but long story short, it’s going to be very tough. It’s gonna take some degree of preparation, and so if you’re going for this title and for this Triumph, you’re going to want to make sure you have five other people in your fire team that you get along with, that you’re not going to get too angry at, and you guys can work together and communicate effectively because this challenge requires all of that.

Getting Ready
Before you even think about getting into the raid with the hopes of beating this encounter, you’ll need to get somethings done in advance. Let’s take a look at what you’ll need.
- Team Composition: Your squad should primarily consist of Strand, Threadrunner Hunters with Grapple Grenades and Widow’s Silk for an aspect or classes with Arc sub-class to benefit from amplified movement bonuses and abilities. Including well Warlocks or Solar-something who can offer healing grenades and other benefits.
- Equipment:
- Hunter: Utilize the New Lightfall Strand exotic helmet called Cyrtarachne’s Facade is a must-have for this class. Mods don’t matter much, but you could try Grenade Kickstart x2. Have a Lightweight Frame on your weapons if available to be able to move faster.
- Warlock: Consider using Ark Souls and having Forbearance and Eager Edge (for close calls only!) for survival.
- Communication: make sure your fireteam has microphones and is able to communicate throughout the encounter, as this is one of the essential requirements for your entire group to succeed.
Strategy
- Initial Setup:
- Start with picking up the Chalice of Light and waiting for the Enlightened buff timer to complete on the first person, setting a rotation for the entire encounter.
- You’re going to want to assign a number to each of your fireteam members from 1 to 6 and make sure that whenever the Enlightened buff runs out on one person, the other is there to activate it.
- There might be a time when you have to skip a person. When that happens make sure that the other member is nearby to replace the one you skipped, so no time is wasted and the order of the rotation is preserved.
- Movement:
- Hunter: you can use your Strand Hook to basically go above the pendulums completely avoiding getting damaged by them. Plus, you may use some swords to extend the distance of your jump using it after you’ve detached from the Thread. You’ll also be creating the grapple points for the other teammates. This Triumph can be easily completed with all 6 Guardians being Hunters who have what we described above.
- General: Move through the encounter ensuring not to hit x10 weight of darkness. Delay as much as possible while activating or enlightening each of the lanterns.
- Lantern Activation:
- Standing at the start counts as a lantern. Wait there for the first person to Enlighten.
- Wait until you have about x7 Weight of Darkness and then activate Enlighten
- If you go too fast, you won’t have enough Enlightened people to activate the next lantern
- Lantern Delay:
- General: Wait at each lantern until it turns orange before moving to the next, delaying as much as possible.
- Order of actions summarised:
- Someone picks up the Chalice and waits until it is full
- The next person takes it from the first, leaving them Enlightened
- Head out to the next Chalice at about 15 seconds in until you all are Engulfed in Darkness
- The third person picks up the Chalice from the second person to bank it on the pedestal to progress and activate the next lanterns
- Wait until someone gets about x7 or x8 Weight of Darkness, then that person Enlightens the lantern
Tips to Succeed
- The person to activate the Chalice next, should leave a little earlier than the rest of the team
- Since the pedestals move and can be at a 3 different clusters, keep an eye out for where the next one will be. Shoot in that general direction to let the team now where to go next
- If your team has been quiet for a while, make sure to ask about their timers. Because if someone dies, the Triumph is failed
- Make sure everyone knows your rotation, who goes after who, because there won’t be time to argue about it once you start the encounter
- You can work in pairs of two people – the one who has the Chalice and the one who will take it next.
Need the Swordbearer Title But Don't Have a Team?
The Feather-Light Triumph is pretty darn difficult to pull off and you have to have a fully equipped 6-man fireteam whom you can talk to and communicate with. The chances of you completing this Triumph while not using a microphone is near zero.
However, LFCarry.com specializes on this type of content. If you’re not prepared to do it yourself, scroll up this page until you see a banner and click on it! It will take you to the page where you can order a team of veteran Destiny 2 players to complete this Triumph with you.
