MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded Release Date
According to the official announcement from the devs, the mid-season update is set to arrive on July 12 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. So, there’s little time left before we can enjoy the new additions and features.
General Overview
New Weapon
One of the exciting things Season 4 Reloaded brings is the new MX Guardian, a “fully-automatic 12-gauge shotgun” that holds five shells. The weapon, according to its description, excels at close-ranged combats, ready to devastate your enemies who weren’t lucky enough to stand close to you.
The brand-new shotgun can be obtained via Battle Pass Sector, which includes a set of challenges and rewards, such as:
- Dependable Emblem: Get 10 ADS Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- Gunfire Calling Card: Get 10 Hipfire Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- Fanning Hutch Loading Screen: Get 10 Headshot Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- 1 Hour Double Weapon XP Token: Get 10 One Shot Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- MX Guardian: Earn All Sector Rewards
New Operators
Season 4 Reloaded introduces collaboration with The Boys TV show, which follows a team of non-superpowered people who fight against superheroes known as Sups who abuse their powers. Among many features the collab brings (about which we’ll talk later) are new Operators – Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir, the said characters with superpowers.
Each bundle with Operator will cost 2,400 CoD Points, and the first one you can unlock is Starlight on July 12, with Homelander and Black Noir arriving on July 16 and July 20, respectively.
On top of that, Izzy is expected to join Modern Warfare 2 as an Operator as well.
Diabolical Camo Event
As usual, camo challenges are the opportunity to show your mastery and get rewarded for it. This time, players will be able to obtain two camouflages, one of which is Vought-approved gray camo used for every weapon in a specific class, for which you need to complete the following challenges:
Once you finish all of the aforementioned challenges, you will be granted a diabolical red camo that can be used on any weapon and a Weapon Charm to show everyone what a skilled player you are.
Moreover, the creators stressed that the enemy doesn’t necessarily mean the other players only. The AI combatants’ kills will also count for the challenges.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Reloaded
New Map
The update introduces a new 6×6 Multiplayer map called Vondel Waterfront, which is a part of larger Warzone 2’s Vondel map. Naturally, it was slightly changed. For instance, you won’t be able to swim underneath the floating houseboats, meaning that you have to fight your enemies on the land. However, you’ll be able to use the water for stealth and also show your maneuvering skills by running between buildings. So, plan your next move carefully.
New (And Final) Raid Episode
In order to avoid any spoilers, let’s just say that, as was confirmed by the devs, this will be the final Raid for Special Ops that will conclude the mission that started three episodes ago. According to the announcement, your squad of three Operators should expect an epic experience. Well, all we need is to wait for the Season 4 Reloaded to go live to see what the creators have in store for us.

Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded
Battle Royale and Gulag in Vondel
The traditional mode will become available on the newest map, Vondel, once the update drops. We know – many were waiting for this. The devs promise that up to 72 players will be able to play matches on the map with dedicated Quads, Trios, Duos, and Solos Playlists.
Battle Royale isn’t the only familiar feature we’ll see on Vondel, as Gulag will be available too for that 1v1 experience we all know too well. The three-lane map will be set in the wine cellar and dungeon underneath the Castle. In the center, there’s a circular structure with an opening that faces the main spawn points. Many veterans might find it familiar because it seems like Vondel’s Gulag was based on the Verdanks prison Gulag.
Thus, you can enjoy the classic mode on Vondel to the fullest.
New Map Rotation
Season 4 Reloaded will introduce Rotating Resurgence Playlists exclusive to Resurgence mode. The playlist will shift from Vondel to Ashika Island maps and vice versa, so be ready to switch gears when it happens.
New Temp V Field Upgrade
For a limited time, players will be able to use superpowers, all thanks to Temp V from The Boys, a “Vought International’s proprietary blend that is near-perfect for anyone wanting to be a Supe.” When consumed, this blend gives you one random superpower out of the available four in your Field Upgrade slot, which you can use whenever you want. However, just like the regular Field Upgrade, it can be lost if you’re eliminated before activating it.
Here are the four superpowers the Operators can be granted:
These superpowers will be available in all modes, except for Ranked Play, because there, you need to rely on your own skills when trying to reach the top.
New Features
- Occupation Scan event: Familiar to Warzone veterans, this event will make you want to maintain a low profile. Whenever the event starts, you need to go prone or dive underwater to avoid being noted. The scan will identify and mark everyone who fails to do so. Be careful.
- Signals intelligence Contract: It will make its debut on the Vondel map. Just like in DMZ, you need to hack three contract phones to obtain the cash reward.
- Portable Redeploy Drone (P.R.D.): The Portable Redeploy Drone’s energy reactors lift you high before exploding. You can disembark at any time or wait for maximum height. Unlike past drones, only one Operator can use this Portable Redeploy Drone. It’s exclusive to Vondel and unavailable in DMZ, so Extraction Zones require ground traversal or vehicles.
