Meet MrFrodoBeggins Who Explored 1,270 Cellars
Now after almost a month since Diablo 4 launched, players look for new ways to challenge themselves as they level up. One such gamer is a Reddit user MrFrodoBeggins, who was leveling their second Barbarian when they came up with an idea to explore every Cellar in the game ten times each.
A quick reminder: Cellars are secret places that only become visible on the minimap when you’re close to them. They are usually quite small and located in basements, mines, and tunnels. There, you can often face a single type of enemy, which makes Cellars great for farming. These are the places MrFrodoBeggins had chosen for their experiment.
The whole journey took three days to complete; however, the result wasn’t something MrFrodoBeggins expected.
What Player Found in the Cellars
In their post on Reddit, MrFrodoBeggins shared what they obtained from those places after exploring them. Here are their findings:
- XP: over 82 million (which helped them move from level 84 to level 89)
- Legendary Items: 200
- Unique Items: 13
- Gold: around 80 million
- Murmuring Obols: 6,352
Moreover, besides many monsters, the player met the Butcher boss three times, which some users in the comments found surprising, while others thought that MrFrodoBeggins was lucky as they didn’t have to fight it many times in such a small space.
Naturally, alongside their findings, the player shared their thoughts about the whole experience. The most exciting thing for them were zombie-themed Cellars, while the exploring itself seemed like a waste of time.
According to MrFrodoBeggins, the experiments slowed down their XP-gaining process (therefore, leveling) and farming resources, items, and currencies. In their opinion, exploring Cellars is a useless activity, and the only good it provides is the Ores and Grass that the player has collected during their game.
